Willie Fritz on CTA Suit

Carol Walter, Clinton, CT Selectman, challenges First Selectman Willie Fritz regarding the CTA suit brought on July 10. Willie and his partisan Selectmen hang together to violate the Town Charter and to deny Clinton taxpayers their right to petition. Walter points out that she had to see this on the New Haven Register website to learn about it. Fritz claims Stan Fisher called him about it and that Fisher learned about it from the CTA press release. In fact Fisher called Pam Fritz, the CTA president BEFORE the release was distributed to the press and asked why we were suing if our Town Charter was identical to the Windham charter. Regarding the town of Windham and their case, our attorney had already reviewed this case prior to filing our petition. 1. Windham has a Town Counsel form of government which functions as their legislative body. Clinton has a Town Meeting form of government that functions as our legislative body. 2. The Supreme court found that the citizens of Windham did have the right to petition.
